Colorado Research CEO Killed In Norway Bike Accident

Vail, Colo. (AP) - The president and CEO of the Steadman Philippon Research Institute has been killed in a bicycle accident while on vacation in Norway.

According to the Vail Daily, J. Mike Egan was on a trip above the Arctic Circle with his brother Tim and two Norwegian friends when the accident occurred Saturday.

Egan served as president and CEO of the independent, nonprofit, orthopedic research and educational institute based in Vail since 2006.

Before joining the institute, Egan founded and ran several successful medical device companies and venture capital firms.
