Broncos' LenDale White Helps Raise Money For Joplin

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Bronco LenDale White was on the radio this weekend helping raise money for people who lost their homes in the tornado in Joplin, Mo.

People in Joplin are still struggling to recover from last month's devastating storm. This weekend people in Denver pitched in to help by holding a fundraiser.

"A lot of people lost a lot of things in the tornado, not just their homes, but some people have their homes still standing and they need cleaning items and organizational tools and construction items, baby items," fundraiser organizer Tarrah Speer said. "Those are some of the kinds of things we need in Joplin right now.

The event in lower downtown was organized by people with friends and family who live in Joplin. They collected money and other goods to let storm victims know they have not been forgotten.

Donations can also be made to the Red Cross.
