LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – More than 150 patients were moved on Friday from St. Anthony’s Central Hospital to its new facility.

Planning for the move has been going on for more than 2 years. Crews trained for 30,000 hours in preparation for using the new facility and moving patients. About 150 patients were being moved in 20 different ambulances Friday morning.

St. Anthony’s Central has been in the Denver location for more than 119 years. The new location is in Lakewood on a 560,000 square foot site. It includes 222 private rooms and 13 surgical suites. The ER is triple the size of the old one.

Adminstrators invested $60 million on new equipment in the facility.

Cutting edge therapy like music therapy and massage will be featured at the new facility.
