DENVER (CBS4) – Brides-to-be are looking for their wedding dresses in unusual places these days in an effort to save money.
Ashley Koch is one such person. She found her dress online.
“It was $189, which was great. We’re college students and our budget was really tight,” she said.
Jayne Duey was getting married for the second time, so she didn’t want to spend a fortune on a traditional white gown.
She, too, went online, cruising the Internet to find a dress to wear as she walked down the aisle.
“They had me send both my dress and my measurements. I got it, it fit perfectly. I didn’t have to do a thing to it,” Duey said.
Costco, the big warehouse store, now has gowns online and which you can find in some of their stores. J Crew has wedding dresses. David’s Bridal, which has stores around the country, now has gowns online.
“You’ll see our wedding dresses that are deeply discounted to $99 online,” said Loretta Szeredy-Meier of David’s Bridal.
If you or your fiancé is in the military and deployed in the Middle East, D’Anelli’s Bridal and Tux in Lakewood has an annual event in the fall where you can get your gown free.
Altar Bridal Consignment Boutique offers what the staff calls “gently loved gowns.”
It seems these days you can fulfill your dreams without emptying your wallet.
