Denver Fire Chief Recognized For Support Of Military
DENVER (CBS4) - The chief of the Denver Fire Department was given a special award on Thursday.
Eric Tade received the Patriot Award for supporting employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. He was nominated for his efforts in helping to reintegrate members as they return home.
Tade says he understands that these employees take on a dual role, placing the community and national needs above their own.
He wants military members to get the support they need and know they have a job waiting for them when they return, hopefully to relieve additional stress.
"We're willing to do what we can to support them since they're out there supporting us," Tade said.
Tade says military members and public servants exist for the same purpose: to serve our citizens.
