DENVER (CBS4) – The Colorado Legacy Foundation received a major investment Monday from Bill and Melinda Gates.
The Gates Foundation awarded Colorado with a $9.7 million grant. The money will be given to four school districts that will serve as “demonstration sites” for three programs.
Each district will implement the Colorado Academic Standard, a new assessment system and a new teacher evaluation system.
The overall goal is to improve Colorado’s schools and help high school students get ready for college or work.
