Body Recovered From Roaring Fork River

BASALT, Colo. (AP) - A swift water rescue crew has recovered the body of a man in his 50s from the Roaring Fork River in Basalt.

Police say it is unknown why the man was in the river.

Basalt Police Chief Roderick O'Connor said the incident appeared to be an accidental drowning.

The Eagle County coroner's office was examining the body Sunday evening to make sure foul play wasn't involved, O'Connor said.
