Three Utilities Employees Arrested In Theft

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Colorado Springs police say three Colorado Springs Utilities employees have been arrested in connection with the theft of equipment from a utilities storage facility.

Robert Maestas, Thomas Mattorano and William Mohrenweiser have been arrested on suspicion of felony theft and accessory to felony theft.

The Colorado Springs Gazette says the three men were being held in the El Paso County jail. Bond for Maestas and Mattorano was set for $3,000 and $2,000 for Mohrenweiser.

All three men are longtime Utilities workers who earned an average of $63,000 a year maintaining pipeline used in the city’s natural gas distribution system.
