State Of Colorado Pays Back Money Owed To Residents
DENVER (CBS4) - The state of Colorado is holding more than $500,000 that it owes to people.
The state treasury department says it owes money to more than a million and a half people. It comes from forgotten or unclaimed assets and funds usually in bank accounts that were forgotten or rebate checks that were never cashed.
The exact amount people will get back varies.
"It's anywhere from $1 that is owed to people up to hundreds of dollars," said Rich Coolidge, Colorado Secretary of State.
