Driver In 2010 Memorial Day Crash Sentenced To 18 Years
GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A drunk driver who caused an accident that sent three people to the hospital was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Thursday.
Charles Stewart's blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit at the time of the crash. He also admitted to was smoking pot.
The accident happened on Memorial Day of last year on Highway 93 outside of Golden.
Stuart was driving 84 mph when he crashed.
At his sentencing in Jefferson County on Thursday the crash survivors testified about their injuries, as well as their recoveries and the medical bills they have had to pay.
