Denver Falls Short For Educated Immigrants
DENVER (Denver Business Journal) - Immigrants in metro Denver fall below the national average in how much higher education they've received, the Brookings Institution reported Thursday.
The Washington, D.C.-based institution's "Geography of Immigrant Skills" report found that 31 percent of Denver-area immigrants ages 25 to 64 lacked a high school diploma in 2009, compared to 19 percent with a bachelor's degree or higher. The national average is 28 percent without a diploma and 30 percent with at least a bachelor's degree.
