Lower Bond Denied For Colorado Springs Police Officer

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado Springs officer accused of sexually assaulting at least six children has been denied a request to lower his bond.

KKTV reported Tuesday that bond is still set at $500,000 for 30-year-old Joshua Carrier, who remains in jail. A judge has also denied a request from his alleged victims that his bond be raised to $1 million.

Carrier was charged last week with 78 criminal counts, including sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, faking a medical exam and enticement.

Carrier, who is suspended without pay, was arrested last month on suspicion of buying child pornography.

He had been a school resource officer at a middle school and a coach in the Police Athletic League.
