Colorado Firefighters Headed To Arizona

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP) - Some Colorado firefighters are headed to Arizona to help fight fires raging in that state.

The Red, White & Blue Fire District based in Breckenridge is sending three wildland firefighters on Tuesday at the request of federal officials.

Wildland coordinator Matt Benedict says the firefighters have been training since February to prepare for the 2011 fire season.

The department is also sending a modified fire truck that carries about 300 gallons of water that can be used for quick maneuvering and response.

The federal government is expected to reimburse the district for all expenses.
