Support Girl Scouts With New Green License Plate

DENVER (CBS4)- Colorado now has a license plate honoring Girl Scouts. The plate celebrates next year's 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts.

Gov. John Hickenlooper signed a bill into law at the state Capitol, surrounded by Girl Scouts, on Friday.

The bill's sponsor said the scouts are about more than just cookies.

"They have a strong program of leadership development that allows these girls to become young women who are very active in their community in the future," said Sen. Betty Boyd, D-Lakewood.

The Girl Scout license plate will be available next year for a one-time $50 fee.
