Judge Hears Arguments To Unseal Cox Documents

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) -- A judge in Castle Rock heard arguments in a request that details of charges against Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox be released.

Cox is charged with one count of sexual assault while the victim was physically helpless and one count of sexual assault while the victim was incapable of determining the nature of the conduct. Court documents say the alleged assault happened on Sept. 6. He was arrested Dec. 9 and is free on $50,000 bail.

Cox has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to go on trial in October.

Details of the charges remain under seal at the request of prosecutors and Cox's defense attorney. The Associated Press and The Denver Post are contesting the matter. District Court Judge Paul King did not indicate when he will rule.
