Man Shot, Killed In Park Near Five Points

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police would like the public's help tracking down a gunman who shot and killed a man Sunday night.

The shooting happened in the Daniel Hale Williams Park at 30th and Lafayette.

Police say the suspect drove up in a dark-colored SUV and exchanged words with the victim. The suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times and then drove off. The victim died at the scene.

Investigators believe several people saw what happened, but they scattered when they heard shots.

"There were actually words between the two and then the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times, and then got back in the SUV and fled the area," Sonny Jackson with Denver police said.

Police have not released the name or age of the victim.
