Shooting Suspect Arrested After Search In North Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - A teenage shooting suspect is in custody after a search Monday night in northwest Denver that lasted nearly 6 hours.

Police say the teenager shot his neighbor in the chest Monday afternoon at 29th and Irving. Several blocks were cordoned off as SWAT teams searched for the shooter.

Police thought the teenager was holed up inside a house, but they found him outside.

Now police are trying to figure out what led to the shooting.

"Whether the shooting was intentional or not is one of the things we are going to determine through the investigation," Denver police Lt. Matt Murray said. "That could determine what charges the district attorney could bring.

"At this point we just don't know. We have a lot of investigating to do before we are able to tell that."

The adult shooting victim underwent surgery Monday night. At last word the victim was in critical condition.
