AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) -- The Air Force Academy Board of Visitors is meeting to hear an update on the school's preparations for the repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy and other matters.

The board meets Friday in Washington, D.C.

The panel reviews academics, morale, discipline and other matters. Most members are appointed by the president and congressional leaders. Two seats are reserved for the heads of the Senate and House Armed Services committees or someone they designate.

Air Force Secretary Michael B. Donley is expected to attend Friday's meeting, along with Gen. Philip M. Breedlove, Air Force vice chief of staff, and Lt. Gen. Michael Gould, the academy superintendent.

Colorado Reps. Jared Polis and Doug Lamborn are on the board. Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet said Thursday he also has been added.
