Trial To Begin In Murder Of Denver DJ

Written by Brian Maass
DENVER (CBS4) - Jury selection is scheduled to begin Thursday in Los Angeles for the man suspected of murdering former Denver disc jockey Steven B. Williams.

Authorities arrested Harvey Morrow in 2006, several months after Williams' body was found floating in the Pacific Ocean with a gunshot wound to his head. Morrow has pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor says jury selection should be wrapped up by the end of the week and testimony should commence next week. The trial is expected to run about two weeks.

Williams was a popular Denver disc jockey in the 1980s, teaming with Don Hawkins on KBPI radio to form the "Steven B. and The Hawk" morning show. Williams eventually settled in California where he met Morrow.

Authorities theorize that Morrow swindled Williams out of about $2 million. Investigators suspect Morrow murdered Williams during an argument about money.
