Gusts, Microbursts Affect Some Denver Flights

DENVER (AP) - Wind gusts and microbursts delayed some flights to and from Denver, and at least one flight was diverted elsewhere.

There was lightning and heavy rain in Denver on Tuesday night. Denver International Airport spokeswoman Jenny Schiavone says a Frontier flight Tuesday night from Cancun, Mexico, was diverted to Colorado Springs, and there have been delays in some other flights of up to an hour.

Schiavone says gusts have been as high as 45 knots, but there have also been calmer periods when flights have been able to come and go.
