The Snyder Fire (credit: CBS)
DENVER (AP) – Fire officials say a wildfire burning near Kenosha Pass is 40 percent contained.
The fire is burning on 200 acres in the Pike National Forest and isn’t threatening any homes.
Air support was grounded Monday by gusts up to 40 mph but calmer weather is expected Tuesday. There’s also a chance of precipitation.
The U.S. Forest Service is warning hikers to stay off the Colorado Trail near the fire. That’s because some burned trees have been toppling due to the strong winds.
