DENVER (CBS4) – Could Kyle Orton end up quarterbacking in Arizona?

Word from sources in Phoenix is that the Cardinals have made preliminary contact with the Denver Broncos asking about Orton’s availability.

The Broncos have said, very consistently, that Orton is the starter for next year.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb is Arizona’s top choice, but Orton could be a Plan B. It could take a while since there won’t be any deals until the lockout is over.

    good riddance

i would hope that john fox would not trade kyle orton i think he’s a very good quarter back but there again i would hope that the broncos could give tim tebow some more playing time.but let’s not get are hope’s up just yet we may not even
    have a season.

Kyle Orton is awesome!!! Do not get rid of him and instead please Broncos do us all a favor and trade Tim Tebow. Tebow sucks and is a total bust!!! Tebow is at very best a backup QB but more realistically he’s a third stringer or a total bust!!

It wouldn’t be logical to trade KO. Oh, but this is the NFL.

The Denver Post is beating the ‘We have no long term qb” war drums agian. Memo to the lackeys at the DP:: Elway’s and Manning’s don’t grow like weeds and are everywhere. Be thankful for what you have until lady luck pays another visit 30 – 40 years later.

  5. happyday says:

Don’t care. He’s not a great QB but, think he would make a good back-up QB. This is a business, so personal feelings cannot enter into these types of decisions. Elway and Fox will continue the wrecking ball attitude for the Broncos.

  6. Mike S. says:

We are not playoff bound this year anyway, so I’d be more interested to see if Tebow is the long term solution . Sink or Swim with Tebow, then we at least know how to build going forward. Orton is a free agent next year anyway so what do we have to lose.

  7. Allen says:

I am surprised at some of the comments. Have we not seen enough of Orton to realize his lack of mobility makes him useless when the play breaks down? I for one do not want to go through another season with him at the Bronco’s helm. If you can get a second round draft choice for him, trade him! Tebow may not be the answer but Orton will never be more then a decent back up.
