Man Dies After Car Crashes Into Clear Creek

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A man died Wednesday night after his car crashed into Clear Creek on Highway 6. Ronald Bruner, 51, from Arvada was behind the wheel.

It happened on the highway just west of Golden, and the road was closed for several hours after wards.

Investigators are trying to figure out what led to the crash, but they say it is generally a dangerous stretch of road that is not well lit, so it's important to drive with care.

"It is a very tight two lane winding roadway through this canyon. Speeds are advised to be very slow, for that reason, so people can maintain control throughout those curves," said Colorado State Patrol spokesman Edward Taylor.

Investigators are also investigating the possibility of alcohol or drugs involved in the crash.

Bruner was thrown from his car and found on the opposite side of the creek. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police have not released a cause of the accident.
