DENVER (CBS4) – Travelers at Denver International Airport had to cross picket lines on Tuesday.
More than 100 pilots from United and Continental marched outside the arrival and departure areas. The pilots are not on strike. It was what’s called an informational picket.
One year ago the United/Continental merger was announced.
“It’s been a long time since either one of us have had a contract that reflects today’s living wage,” Cpt. Garth Thompson with United Airlines said.
United says it hopes the new combined labor contracts can be completed by the end of the year.
Similar protests took place at airports across the country.
