Texas DA Reviews Fatal Crash Involving Sen. Suzanne Williams
DENVER (AP) - A Texas accident reconstruction team has turned over its files to the district attorney following a review of a fatal traffic accident involving Colorado state Sen. Suzanne Williams and has forwarded the report to a prosecutor.
The Denver Post reports that District Attorney David Green said once he receives the report, he will present a case to a grand jury to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
The crash Dec. 26 near Channing, Texas, killed 30-year-old Brianna Michelle Gomez, who was seven months pregnant. The baby boy, Curran Blaec Gomez, was delivered by cesarean section.
Authorities say Williams' 2010 Honda CR-V veered into the southbound traffic lane and hit a GMC Yukon driven by 30-year-old Eric Gomez, Brianna Gomez's husband.
Williams' son and two grandchildren were injured.
