Former Union Official Pleads Guilty To Theft
DENVER (AP) - A former union official accused of embezzling at least $5,500 from her organization has pleaded guilty to felony theft.
Heather Lynn Grover was president of the American Federation of Government Employees AFL-CIO Local 1557 in Lakewood from November 2006 to March 2008. The union represents about 140 Denver-based federal employees.
The Jefferson County district attorney's office says Grover has been ordered to repay the union. She was sentenced to a two-year diversion after which the felony charge may be dismissed. A misdemeanor theft charge would remain on her record.
The Post reports Grover declined to comment Monday when reached at work at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where she is a loan specialist.
