Colorado Man Faces Drug Charge After Arrest In Wyoming

ELK MOUNTAIN, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say a Colorado man is facing a felony charge after about 68 pounds of dried marijuana were found in his car during a traffic stop in southeast Wyoming.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says Ian Knoop, 20, of Colorado Springs was arrested Saturday 20 miles east of Elk Mountain on Interstate 80. The patrol says a trooper stopped him for following too closely and then requested a drug-sniffing dog from the Carbon County sheriff's office.

The patrol says officers found five large duffel bags packed with individual vacuum-sealed bags of dried marijuana. Authorities say Knoop, who was alone, was driving from the San Francisco area to the Colorado Springs area.

The patrol says he was arrested on the felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
