Police To File Charges In Northern Colorodo Student's Death

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Police say they expect to file charges in the death of a University of Northern Colorado freshman who jumped from a second-story balcony at a fraternity house.

The Greeley Tribune reported 19-year-old Ross Higuchi died from severe head injuries Tuesday night. Police say they will likely file charges next week.

Detectives say they have been trying to track down who provided alcohol to underage students at a fraternity party last week. Members of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity said partygoers had been asked to bring their own liquor.

Police say they found Higuchi lying beneath a balcony outside the house early Saturday morning. He apparently got into an argument and intentionally jumped over the railing.

Police say Higuchi had been drinking. A toxicology report is pending.
