Attorney Drops Case Over Medical Pot Ban In Loveland
LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - An attorney representing three medical marijuana dispensaries in Loveland has withdrawn a lawsuit against the city.
The Coloradoan in Fort Collins reports that attorney Robert Corry moved Thursday to drop the claims. The paper says it obtained the court document through city attorney John Duval.
Corry was representing three dispensaries and two medical marijuana patients. They were challenging a voter-approved ban on dispensaries in Loveland city limits.
Existing ones had until early March to close.
A judge in late March denied a temporary injunction to the medical marijuana businesses that would have allowed them to stay open until the case went to court.
Colorado allows marijuana for medical uses but communities can decide to ban dispensaries.
