Big Blue Bear Gets Ball & Chained
DENVER (CBS4) - One of Denver's most recognized pieces of public art -- the big blue bear at the Colorado Convention Center -- was given a new accessory on Monday morning.
Some crafty artists are apparently responsible for placing a giant ball and chain made out of yarn around the leg of the 40-foot-tall sculpture.
The ball and chain with the initials LFS prominently displayed is the product of the underground artist group the "Ladies Fancywork Society."
The bear, a work titled "I See What You Mean" by artist Lawrence Argent, has peered into the Colorado Convention Center since 2005.
Security crews removed the ball and chain from the bear's leg two hours after it was placed there.
