Arrest Affidavit Reveals Disturbing Details In Alleged Serial Rapist's Habits

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Detectives are investigating another attack that could be linked to a suspected serial rapist. Marc O'Leary faces charges in attacks on women in Golden and Westminster. He's also a person of interest in a nearly identical case in Aurora.

Investigators believe O'Leary planned his attack, staked out his victims, assaulting them repeatedly over several hours and then took methodical steps to make sure no evidence was left behind.

O'Leary faces 28 charges for an attack in Westminster, an attempted attack in Lakewood and for an assault in Golden. In that incident in January, a 26-year-old woman told police she woke to find a masked man in her bed with a handgun. He told her he would shoot her if she screamed.

The arrest warrant states the man had a black backpack with supplies for the attack, including stockings and high heels, which he dressed the victim in. He also brought make up, which he made her wear.

There were also wet wipes and bottled water. The bag also had a sex toy, a flashlight and a pink camera. The suspect used the camera to take pictures throughout the four hours of forced sex acts.

The victim said she engaged O'Leary in conversation to get information for police. She said he talked about his interest in math and showed the woman how to better secure her patio door.

The suspect eventually "... used a wet wipe from his own kit" to clean away some evidence and then told the victim to "... shower and wash herself with soap, also brush her teeth with toothpaste."

According to the affidavit, "...he told her he was hiding her phone. He took her bed sheets, pajamas and panties, as well as the items he brought in with him."

Police said video surveillance near the crime scenes led police to O'Leary's pickup truck and eventually to O'Leary. His only statement to police was to ask for an attorney.

The affidavit states that O'Leary may have another victim in Aurora. He is a person of interest in a nearly identical attack on a 66-year-old woman a year and a half ago.

The information in this case has been passed on to investigators in Kansas who are still trying to solve a string of 13 sexual assaults on college students in that state from 2000-2008.

O'Leary is being held in the Jefferson County jail on a $5 million bond.
