SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Traffic was backed up along Interstate 70 east of the Eisenhower Tunnel because of an accident at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed at mile marker 216 for about an hour and a half because of an accident involving four vehicles, two SUVs and two semis. Two people from one of the SUVs were rushed to the hospital with injuries.

Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident. Troopers do not know how many other people were in the four vehicles.

Eastbound lanes of I-70 reopened at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday. Traffic began moving again, but the backup stretched for miles.
