Colorado GOP Chairman Says Federal Budget Top Issue

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The new head of the Colorado Republican Party says the federal budget will be the key focus for the 2012 election.

Ryan Call says President Barack Obama talks about hope and change, but Colorado families need more than hope and politicians need to make sure the government lives within its means.

Call made his comments Saturday at the party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner in Glenwood Springs. The Post Independent reports that more than 200 people packed the room for the event.

Call said Republicans need to work hard to re-elect the state's four GOP congressmen, Scott Tipton, Mike Coffman, Doug Lamborn and Cory Gardner, and to take back control of the state Senate.
