DENVER (CBS4)- Jessica Biel, Rhianna and Kim Kardashian are all wearing scarves and jewelry designed by college student Alyssa Wasko of Colorado.
Alyssa never planned to sell what she made. She gave them to friends because they offered her comfort after her father died unexpectedly.
“We were always really close, I always looked up to him, we always had a very special relationship” said Alyssa Wasko.
She makes bright colored scarves because they remind her of the hugs her father used to give her.
“I kind of feel like my dad is always around me” Wasko said.
The company is called donni charm after her father, Donni.
The scarves are now sold all over the country and the line of products has expanded from scarves to jewelry and t-shirts. Everything is priced at less than one hundred dollars.
Alyssa said she still misses her father every day, but is convinced he’d be tickled by the success of a project she tackled when she was missing him most.
