BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – A man arrested in the death of a University of New Hampshire football player last month will not face the death penalty.

Kevin McGregor, 22, is in the Boulder County Jail without bond.

The district attorney said he decided not to pursue the death penalty after consulting with the Boulder Police Department and the victims’ families.

If convicted on the murder charges could spend life in prison.

Police say he shot and killed Todd Walker.

Walker, from Edwards, was visiting a female friend at the University of Colorado. The two were walking to her home after a party near campus.

Investigators say Walker died while protecting the woman.

We have come to expect nothing less from Boulder. Thank God this clown wasn’t elected Attorney General of the whole state.

No suprise here….. but on the bright side it will save the tax payers alot of money, the appeals are automatic and expensive. Cheeper to let him rot in a concrete box.

He’s lucky….all I can add is if Boulderites had the Texan mentality, he’d already be on death row….GOD BLESS TEXAS!

Wonder if the verdict would be the same if he was black..?
