Gov. Bill Ritter’s Portrait (credit: CBS)
DENVER (AP) - Former Gov. Bill Ritter was back at the Colorado Capitol Tuesday to promote a bicycle race and see his official portrait.
The one-term Democrat made his first public appearance at the Gold Dome since his successor, Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper, was inaugurated in January.
Ritter and Hickenlooper talked up the Quizno’s Pro Challenge bike race, a new stage race that starts in September. Ritter is a fan of competitive cycling, and Hickenlooper presided over a bicycle-sharing program in Denver while he was mayor.
The new governor was also on hand later when the former governor saw his official portrait unveiled. The painting will hang in the state Capitol.
