Trucker Hit By Car While Chaining Up On I-70

VAIL, Colo. (CBS4) – Snow in the high country on Sunday caused a slew of problems on the Interstate 70 corridor, including contributing to a scary incident in which a trucker was hit by a car.

The highway was closed for most of the afternoon, and late in the evening a vehicle hit the driver on the side of the road.

It happened on the eastern side of Vail Pass as the driver put chains on his truck to head up the pass.

Officials with the Colorado State Patrol say the trucker was taken to an area hospital.

He is expected to be okay.
