Coroner ID’s Teen Found Dead In Suitcase

DENVER (CBS4) – Authorities in Denver have identified the person whose body was found by some teenagers in a park last week.

The body of Joshua Oaks Churchwell, 17, of Burlington, was found on the 1700 block of West Atlantic Place, near Ruby Hill Park, on Friday. The body was stuffed into a suitcase that was covered with mud and placed in a kiddie pool in the middle of a field.

Denver’s Chief Medical Examiner said they are still trying to determine exactly how Churchwell died.

Churchwell lived in Burlington.

    I knew this boy…I live in Burlington and I know his sister. It’s horrible to see what this has done to her and her family.

    Our prayers go out to the family. So glad to see that an ID was made. I hope and pray that the person or persons responsible are caught as quickly.
