Woman Killed After Getting Hit By SUV In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman was killed in an auto/pedestrian accident on Tuesday morning in Aurora.

Aurora police said the accident happened at the intersection of East Illiff Avenue and South Havana Street.

"The investigation revealed that a 1998 White Chevy Blazer was northbound on South Havana Street in the center through lane. The Blazer had a green light at East Iliff Avenue and continued through the intersection," Sgt. William Revelle said in a statement. "The Blazer then struck a female pedestrian on the north side of the intersection."

Revelle said the driver of the Blazer did not see the woman until just before the impact.

"The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries."

It doesn't appear that alcohol or drugs were a factor.

Names of the people involved have not been released.
