Glenwood Springs Considers Medical Pot Rules

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Glenwood Springs officials are getting closer to adopting rules to govern how medical marijuana businesses can operate.

The Glenwood Springs City Council voted earlier this month to give the rules initial approval and a final vote is expected next month. The ordinance would limit dispensaries and cultivation operations to commercial districts. The ordinance also would require businesses to be at least 500 feet from any schools.

The Glenwood Springs Post Independent reports that the ordinance also calls for businesses to meet standards relating to security, signage and odor control.
