Biden Speaks At Snowmass Disabled Vets Clinic

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden spoke to disabled military veterans in a surprise appearance in Snowmass.

During his brief talk Sunday, he referred to the words of author John Steinbeck in telling the vets that soldiers are the most tested of Americans.

Biden was taking time out from a family ski trip and several family members accompanied him.

The appearance came during the opening ceremonies for the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass Village. The clinic helps disabled vets carry out a range of sports including skiing, curling and rock climbing.

Biden says he will be participating in the clinics events.

For security reasons, the details of his involvement have not been made public.
