DENVER (CBS4) – The Colorado Patriot Guard helped pay tribute to a Marine killed in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Christopher Meis died last week while on a mission in Helmand province. The 20-year-old grew up in Bennet.

Meis was buried Friday at Fort Logan National Cemetery. He was stationed out of Camp Lejeune, NC and deployed to Afghanistan in January.

Meis was just promoted to lance corporal last month.
