Bennet Leads Effort To Revamp Standardized Tests
DENVER (CBS4)- Tests like the CSAP, ACT and SAT are about to come under scrutiny unlike ever before. Sen. Michael Bennet launched an effort to revamp standardized testing on Thursday.
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will be part of a group that will study the number, length and purpose of the tests.
The hope is to let education leaders focus on improving student achievement, instead of dealing with needless regulations.
"I think we can, by taking some of these things away, we can enhance and improve our accountability system while giving people more time to do the work," said Bennet.
Bennet is working with Sen. Lamar Alexander, a Tennessee Republican, on the plan.
