Colorado House Recites The U.S. Constitution

DENVER (AP) -- The newly Republican House in Washington recently read the federal Constitution aloud. Colorado's newly Republican House followed their federal counterparts' lead Wednesday morning and did the same.

Some Democrats, including Minority Leader Rep. Sal Pace, joined House Republicans for the event to mark Liberty Day. Lawmakers from both parties took turns reading the document aloud.

Liberty Day is an unofficial holiday to encourage people to read the nation's founding documents.

James Madison was born on March 16. The nation's fourth president is credited for crafting much of the U.S. Constitution.
