Phoenix Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A report of smoke in the cockpit forced a Southwest Airlines flight from Phoenix to make an emergency landing at the Colorado Springs Airport but no one was injured.

The Denver Post reports that the plane landed without incident at 11:42 a.m. Sunday after the pilots reported the smoke. Airport spokeswoman Agnes Blachut says the plane is going to be inspected once the passengers leave. It was not immediately known where the plane was heading to but it had 8,000 pounds of fuel.

Blachut says the plane had 141 passengers and none reported injuries.
