CU Weighs Extending Staff Tuition Benefits

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The University of Colorado is looking at ways it can increase the tuition benefits it makes available to its faculty and staff so the school can compete with what other colleges provide.

The university is considering extending the tuition wavier to the dependents or children of employees who don't take advantage of the free courses or offering a tuition discount of up to 50 percent to employees and their dependents. The Boulder Daily Camera reported Saturday that CU currently allows employees not classified as state workers to take up to nine credit hours a year for free.
