More Fort Carson Soldiers Returning From Iraq

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Another 600 Fort Carson soldiers are arriving home after a yearlong deployment in southern Iraq.

They had been scheduled to arrive Wednesday in three waves starting at 8 a.m. but their arrival has been delayed. The first troops are now set to arrive at 11 p.m. and more are scheduled to follow on Thursday morning.

The soldiers are from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, part of the 4th Infantry Division.

The brigade has about 3,800 members. An advance unit returned to Fort Carson last month, and the pace of homecomings has increased in recent weeks.
