Forbes: Denver Now Nation’s 9th Most Miserable Sports City

DENVER (Denver Business Journal) – Forbes has named Denver the nation’s ninth most miserable sports city, based on the performance of its Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rockies, the Denver Business Journal reports.

“[There’s] a lot of bridesmaid history in the Mile High City — the Broncos lost six times in the AFC title game or Super Bowl, the Rockies lost their only World Series appearance, and Nuggets teams featuring the likes of David Thompson, Dan Issel, Alex English, Dikembe Mutombo and Carmelo Anthony made the playoffs 30 times in 43 years with no rings,” Forbes says.

Looks like forbes doesn’t do a lot of research, the Colorado Rapids won MLS Cup last year and are reigning champions

Are you guys kidding me? The Denver Sports teams are miserable to support. One win by the Rapids (do they really count as a major league sport, anyway?), 2 by the Broncos, 2 by the Avs, do not a great sports town make.

Rocky Mountain Rollergirls are WFTDA world champs of women’s flat track roller derby. Your city has TWO derby travel teams in DNN’s top ten power-ranked teams.
