Promoters Say Mile High Music Fest Is On Hiatus

DENVER (CBS4) - There will be no Mile High Music Festival this year.

Promoters announced Tuesday that the festival is on hold. Organizer Chuck Morris, president and CEO of AEG Live Rocky Mountain Region, said in a prepared statement that the decision was not an easy one.

"We are really proud of the event, and we're not ruling out the possibility of bringing it back in the future," he said.

Festival organizers said the current economic climate was a contributing factor in their decision.

There have been some questions about the venue in Commerce City -- rather than City Park -- and the lack of camping facilities boosting the cost for people coming in from out of town.
