Colorado Woman Charged After Nebraska Stop Nets Cocaine

SEWARD, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a Colorado woman was arrested after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska netted 10 pounds of cocaine in a hidden compartment.

The Nebraska State Patrol says Kendrah Smartt, of Denver, was arrested last Friday after a trooper stopped an eastbound pickup in Seward County.

The patrol says Monday that a drug dog picked up the scent of drugs, and a search turned up the cocaine in a false compartment in a large generator tank in the bed.

Smartt is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Officials at the Seward County jail say she was released from jail on Saturday. They didn't know if she had an attorney. The state's online court system doesn't list a case for Smartt.
